senators mikulski and cardin have been leaders, fighting to make health care more affordable and to make sure seniors have access to the medicines their doctor prescribes. now maryland senators can improve medicare and help close the donut hole without raising premiums on seniors by as much as 20%, which some proposals would do. call today -- ask senators mikulski and cardin to support the senate health care reform bill. because we can improve medicare without making seniors pay more.

and charges have been dismissed against a baltimore city police officer before shaking down drug suspects for cash during an undercover sting. prosecutors claim there were and dropped his case. an internal affairs of destination is ongoing. >> this is not over as far as the department is concerned. we are not at the end of the race. we are working very closely with other departments. this shows that we can do better. >> the officer remains suspended while the internal investigation continues. >> and nightclub associated with violence in mount vernon will be closed for one year. it has been the scene of a double shooting, or robberies, and aggravated assault. police decided to shut the club down to avoid more violence.

>> the owner of the truck that struck and killed a johns indicted. the man has been indicted for vehicular manslaughter for the accidents on st. paul street. police say he is a danger to the public after more than a dozen traffic violations. he remains behind bars this morning. a baltimore county man accused of shooting his girlfriend has been arrested. he shot his lead -- live in girlfriend after a dispute. that prompted a lockdown of the nearby academy in halls -- high school where the children were in class. the girlfriend is expected to survive. hours later, the man surrendered himself. >> --

>> authorities have identified using fingerprint identification, they determined the identity who was last seen kayaking november 3. only his life jacket and in the kayak was some later that day. drowning appears to be the cause of death according to preliminary autopsy results. we have sad the news this morning. claimed the life of another maryland a soldier. his unit was attacked by an i.e.d. on november 23. he was deployed to afghanistan in july. he is survived by his wife, parents, and sisters. he is the 11th maryland national army cars meant to die in the war on terror. president obama says he will release his strategy forhe says it will seriously confronted al qaeda and its allies.

we are dealing with fog and drizzle affecting the morning rush. if you are heading out in a phoenix, watch out for an accident in that location. it is foggy in certain spots especially malt caramel road -- mount carmel road. at harford road, a couple of other accidents as well. northbound 295 just past the beltway, blocking the left lane. southbound 295 impacting traffic at 175 with the delay is developing as a result. a busy ride around the area. it added volume with everyone trying to get out of town. at the belt way past the exit, left flank continues to be closed. no significant delays.
